National Heritage Park

Project Description:

This project was secured on a Design and Build, to a strict clients budget, it was tendered as a brief only project.  We altered the circular tower already existing, as the centre wanted to create a stimulated archaeological dig for students to see how it is done on site, and the formation of a new bridge to this site, the Heritage Centre remained in operation during the construction stage, as it is one of the main visitor attractions in the south east.

It consisted of construction of internal walls, Clearspan roof structure, Construction of foothpaths, ramps and a new timber bridge, and internal and external decoration, electricity had to be brought to this part of the centre as it was a remote site there was none existing, there was no running water in this part of the centre so we had to install a rain harvest system that harvested the water that fell onto the new roof. there was only one access route to this site and all material had to be brought up a steep incline and a narrow foothpath during designated times as the Heritage Park remained open to the general public. This part of the centre had to be open in 8 weeks as they had tours booked in for this attraction in June 2012. This was a Failte Ireland Funded Programme.
